Bridging the DIY corridor from North Carolina to Brooklyn N.Y., VACANT COMPANY has established itself as an important link between the two. The band started in Raleigh, N.C. while living at the Kosher Hut–a short lived, but pinnacle venue in Southern DIY lore. Several festival appearances and many basements later, their performance is hard to top: visceral, searing slow core, and off-kilter hardcore, pausing only long enough for front man Dr. Razza Goul to utter the occasional spoken word between measures. No doubt, the group is defined by its live performances and communal values, but is equally known for its technical prowess and ability to buckle down in the studio. Their forthcoming studio album recorded by Jeremy Snyder at Fidelitorium Recordings showcases just that. The band is set to release their self-titled LP on vinyl via Antena Krzyku (Poland) in October 2024 followed by a full east coast run.
